17-years old club youth system player Alex Matthias Tamm signed the first contract of his career with Nõmme Kalju. Contract will be valid until the end of 2021 season.
Tamm has been in Nõmme Kalju for almost 13 years. He played his first official games for Kalju already in 2009. Young striker made his Premium League debut in past season against Viljandi JK Tulevik – in that game he also managed to score his first goal in highest league. In total Tamm scored 14 goals for first and second team.
In addition to domestic league Tamm proved himself already in preseason when Kalju had games at international level. Last spring Kalju played against Norway five-time league champion Oslo Vålerenga, where Tamm managed to score the only goal. Tamm also took part in UEFA Europa League games, where he scored winning goal against Island club Stjarnan.
Tamm has also been part of U17 and U19 Estonian national team, where he has played accordingly 11 and 7 games. In U19 national team he scored twice against Lithuanian, in U17 national team he has scored against Latvia and Finland.
”I’m really happy to sign contract with my youth club, where I have played for almost 13 years. Last season I got very good experience how it feels to train and play at professional level and realized that I want to commit to football for the rest of my life,” told Tamm about his singment.
”My main goal for upcoming season is to protect the title and help my team as much as possible. I always want to give 100% of me,” added Tamm about his targets for new season.
”I remember when Alex was a little boy and back then it was already clear that he can reach far. We support Alex as much as we can and we are already very proud of his accomplishments,” commented Nõmme Kalju’s president Kuno Tehva.
