Igor Prins, who led Nõmme Kalju’s first team for five seasons, will not be coach next season.
Igor Prins started work as Nõmme Kalju’s head coach in 2010, 31th August, finishing first season in fourth place. In first full season he led team to silver medal, in 2012 Nõmme Kalju was crowned as Estonian champions. 2013 finished again in silver medal and this season finished in fourth place.
Kalju also made headlines in Europe. In 2013 Kalju defeated HJK Helsinki in UEFA Champions League, then losing to Viktoria Plžen and in Europa League play-off to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. With this, Kalju repeated Estonian clubs all time record.
Kalju had successful summer in this years UEFA Europa League pre-rounds. Kalju defeated Fram Reykjavik and started next round with impressive 1:0 victory over Lech Poznan in Kadrioru stadium. Yet, it was Poznan to go to next round, as they won 3:0 in Poland.
