Damiano Quintieri returns to Nõmme Kalju, signing one year contract with the Estonian club, with option to prolong by one season.
“I am sincerely happy to be back in my second home, Nõmme Kalju. After leaving Estonia I had really difficult period, because of my injury, but now I am fully recovered. I hope my career will have new great start and I will help Nõmme Kalju reach targets and become champion again,” said Quintieri after signing.
“He has the potential, all neccesary, to be important player in Nõmme Kalju. From now on it’s all up to him and as much as he puts effort info he’s trainings,” said Kalju’s head coach Sergei Frantsev.
After leaving Kalju Quintieri trained individually and he was helped by doctor Francesco Bosco, who is also works with Chelsea FC and Juventus FC. Starting December Italian joined Kalju’s trainigs and made good impression to coaches, proving he’s skills and physical condition.
“I would like to thank my family, Kuno Tehva and Nõmme Kalju’s personal, who belive in me and bring me back to Kalju,” added Quintieri.
25 year old former Milano Inter youth player represented Nõmme Kalju in 2011-2014, helping Kalju to become champion in 2012. He played in Nõmme Kalju 68 league games, scoring 14 goals. In UEFA Champions League 2013/14 season he scored 3 goals, against HJK Helsinki and Viktoria Plzen.
